Discovering and learning about the fascinating life of ants from the comfort of your own home could not be easier. The compact and sturdy, Ultisol I formicarium (that's ant farm to you and I) simulates a series of naturalistic chambers and tunnels that would otherwise only be found deep underground within an established ant colony.
Through the clear, see-through glass you can watch how the ants designate their own living quarters. Some species such as Harvester Ants may prefer to use the larger chambers as larders to store their seeds whilst Primitive Jumping Ants will use these to nurture their growing young larvae!
Observing how ants communicate with each other as they diligently scout and search for food in their designated foraging chamber that's included in the kit, will surely provides hours of entertainment.
The Ultisol I Ant Nest is suitable for almost all species of ants, from Common Black Garden Ants such as Lasius niger to granivorous seed harvesters such as Messor barbarus to pre-historic looking, exotic species such as Harpegnathos venator.
