The newly designed small formiLAB Outworld (s) series is designed to allow small-medium ant colonies to forage and scout for resources as they would naturally do in the wild. There's nothing quite like watching a group of worker ants diligently cooperating together as they bring in a food item that may be five times their size! Also perfect for adding a drinking station for your ants (i.e. small deluxe water dispenser).
 
Not to mention, adding an outworld is also beneficial to the growth of your colony as this expansion allows for easier cleaning & nest maintenance. This is because ants tend to be very clean creatures and will most often bring discarded remains and general rubbish outside their main nest. 
 
The new formiLAB Outworld series is a complete outworld  that requires assembly. It allows for perfect observation through it's crystal clear acrylic panels (3mm industry standard). It's also capable of housing small species of ants but not recommended for micro species. 
 
This is supplied with detailed instructions and can be assembled in 30 minutes. All screws are screwed into solid metal inserts, so you're not screwing into plastic. This can be constructed without any gaps, and the bottom and side braces provide additional security and structural support.
 
You can connect this outworld directly to your ant nest, or you can connect it to our 4 Way Connectors V4 to allow for further expansion at a later date.
 
f you are going for a minimalistic outworld, this white base allows for a great view of your colony. On the other hand, if you want to add any substrate to this outworld, it has to be bone-dry. The first reason for this is because the outworld isn't glued and damp substrate can cause warping of the acrylic. The second reason is that any damp substrate will encourage a colony to nest in the outworld instead of the nest.
  
The lid features air vents to allow for air circulation, and also a handle for easy removal. The lid sits snugly on the screws holding the 'top' of the outworld on, and this 'top' piece provides an excellent place to put your escape fluid on.  We recommend using our anti escape barrier on the underside of the 'top' piece.
